DAY ONE - Costa Rica Arrival
Welcome to nature’s wonderland. With over a quarter of its territory enjoying protection in the ever-growing network of national parks and reserves, Costa Rica is proud to share its unique natural heritage with you. Interact’s foreign representative will meet you in the airport lobby. Transfer to Rancho Lodge or host family.

MIDDLE CLASS HOST FAMILIES live in the countryside community of La Guacima. When La Guacima homestay reaches capacity, groups are placed with families in Guadalupe or Escazu. Regardless, all families are monitored and continually evaluated. Everyone speaks Spanish in the home. Students normally share with one other group member of the same general language ability.

DAY TWO - Coffee & Crafts
Experience the original Café Britt coffee tour in Barva de Heredia. You’ll be immersed in a colorful journey through their working plantation and roastery. Learn how experts taste or “cup” coffee to identify and grade the characteristics that qualify a gourmet coffee. Then, browse their factory store and gift shop. Later, visit a popular craft center. Enjoy shopping for traditional hand-painted oxcarts and souvenirs.




DAY THREE -
Participate in our humanitarian and cultural . Visit a regional school, orphanage or day care center. Please bring basic school supplies and wear old clothes. Interact donates roundtrip transportation, staffing, and project materials. Later, have fun learning to salsa.

DAY FOUR - Tortuguero National Park
Drive through spectacular scenery on your way to Matina. Board the riverboat for a journey through the canals sheltered in the jungle of the rain forest. Arrival Tortuguero National Park, one of the most exotic regions in the world and home to various species of sea turtles. All meals are included.

DAY FIVE - Tortuguero National Park
Today's excursion includes hiking and boat trips. Explore the smaller canals and get closer to nature. The wildlife here is rich and diverse with unusually large populations of monkeys, birds and fish. Visit the little village of Tortuguero. All meals are included.

DAY SIX – Optional Zip-Line
Depart by boat to Matina. Consider a popular option to Hacienda Pozo Azul, a 400 acre, protected forest where 12 cables and 14 platforms have been installed. This canopy ride has double cable in each zip line. The tour ends with a spectacular 330 ft. line that crosses the Sarapiqui River Canyon, landing right by the reception building.

DAY SEVEN – Isla Tortuga
Drive to the Pacific Coast, where you’ll board your catamaran or yacht. Cruise past the Guayabo National Park Sanctuary on your way to Isla Tortuga. Lunch is included today. Enjoy your day on an island where sun, sand, and crystal clear water beckons you to swim, play beach volleyball, or relax under swaying coconut palms.

DAY EIGHT - Return to United States
